B'Aeretz is a companion for observant visitors to Israel — kosher kitchens with their certification named, Shabbat times for wherever you are standing, shuls, mikvaot and guided walks. It works with no signal.

Common questions
Does it work without a signal?
Yes. Every place, walk, shul and mikveh is stored on the phone, and the Jewish calendar is bundled through 2028. Weather, currency rates and ground heights for walks are fetched when you are online and then kept. If the first thing you do is open it on the plane, everything works.
How is kashrut information decided?
Certification is reported as the certifying bodies publish it, and the app names the body — Rabbanut, Mehadrin, Badatz, Tzohar — rather than showing a badge that could mean anything. Where a kitchen's supervision could not be confirmed, the app says so and tells you to ask.
The certificate on the wall is always the answer. Kashrut changes hands, lapses and is restored, and no app can be more current than the teudah in front of you.
Why are there no opening hours for mikvaot?
Deliberately. Sessions move with nightfall, most take appointments, and buildings close for refurbishment without notice. A wrong time here matters more than a wrong time anywhere else, so the app records the address and the telephone number and sends you to directories that do keep hours.
Why do some places say "usually open" instead of a countdown?
Because those hours are typical for that kind of place rather than a finding about that particular one. Where the hours were actually checked, the app counts down. It tries not to sound more certain than it is.
Shabbat times — which ones does it use?
Candle lighting and havdalah are calculated for where you are standing, not for a city you are not in. Yom tov dates for Israel are bundled into the app, so a chag is recognised with no connection. Reminders will never fire once Shabbat has begun.
